 National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH),Kolkata is on a bewitching journey of growth and development. You might be fascinated by its contribution towards the society in the field of Homeopathy. As you already know, it has already established itself as one of the top Homoeopathy institutes of India, but that is just the preamble compared to the other initiatives and progress the institute is making. It is not only providing BHMS & MD.(Homoeopathy) degree courses but also doing Clinical Research activities and also providing Hospital Services (IPD/OPD). We provide OPD services to approximately 2000-3000 patients per day coming from all over the country. We do clinical research work with prime focuses on– Tonsillitis, degenerative bony diseases, Leucoderma, Thyroid dysfunctions (Hyperthyroid/Euthyroid) Spondylosis, Psoriasis and Cancer. Our excellence in teaching and research comes from the careful choice of faculty members/students/research scholars in which NIH has not made any compromise. Students are coming through NEET exam. conducted by Govt. of India. Few seats are reserved for BIMSTEC Countries. We have a very resourceful central library with more than 22000 books, various journals , archive for rare books; including some rare non-English (German, Spanish etc.) books along with department libraries to strengthen the quality of education and research work. We do conduct regular seminars and workshops to exchange views, ideas in collaborative ways to enhance the skills and knowledge.

The institute is functioning in its own campus on approximately 16 acres land at Block­ GE, Sector- ill, Salt Lake City, Kolkata. As a part of growth road map we have completed the 1st phase(G+3) of 8-storied Academic-cum-Library building with all modern amenities and started functional. 7 departments classes are shifted to new Building. We are very hopeful to get the 2nd phase ready by next year as the construction is near completion.

 As we planned to enhance hospital bed strength from existing 100 to 250 beds, we started extending hospital building (G+3) and started operational from this year(2018). Apart from our main campus there are two other campuses, one measuring about 10 acres located in Block-JC, Salt Lake, Kolkata, where Residential Quarters for the staff of the Institute, International Hostel and Post Graduate Hostel are situated. Our UG Hostels-separately for Boys and Girls are with in the main campus. Another campus measuring about 25 acres having a herbal plant garden and a peripheral OPD is located in Kalyani, Dist. Nadia, West Bengal, about 50 kms away from the main campus.

 Govt. of India has declared the National Institute of Homoeopathy(NIH), as the Center for Traditional Medicine in South East Asian Region Countries under Delhi Declaration. We have made our credibility but there is a continuous scope for growth and improvement and I am sure, with the active cooperation of all our stakeholders, students, faculties, staffs, employees, parents, government, media, we will be able to fulfill the required expectation and achieve the highest standard in providing services in health sciences in the field of Homeopathy.
