Department of Surgery

The department trains students, Interns and PGTs in basics of General Surgery, Systemic Surgery, Eye, ENT and Dental surgery, both in OPD and IPD, through specialists of the respective field. At the same time homoeopathic treatment is provided for the cases by qualified homoeopathic physician.

The department organizes theory and practical classes for second and third-year BHMS students according to the curriculum defined by W.B.U.H.S (West Bengal University of Health Sciences) and the program specified in the standards of NCH (National Council for Homoeopathy).

The students, interns, PGTs are being acquainted with the basic concepts and techniques in surgical diseases in OPD and IPD. The scopes and limitations of Homoeopathy are also being taught by the concerned Departmental faculty. The department possesses more than 35 charts, models, etc., to demonstrate and enrich the diagnostic knowledge of the students.

The Department is located on the 1st floor of the new Academy-cum-Library Building. The departmental library has adequate collection of  books required for day-to-day teaching as well as reference work in relation to Surgery and Homoeopathy.
